VMS Showcases Total Team Effort at New Jersey Motorsports Park

Millville, NJ (8/15/10) - The old adage 'there's no I in Team' rang loudly this past weekend as Venturini Motorsports visited New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) for the running of the Garden State ARCA 150.

VMS teammates, Mikey Kile and Steve Arpin rolled into NJMP eager to tackle the road course challenge and battle the 35-car field for a shot to hoist the hardware. While neither driver claimed the top spot they displayed their individual talents by overcoming a series of challenges en route to claiming two top-10 finishes.

Although the ARCA RACING SERIES media guide defines the New Jersey Motorsports Park track as a 2.25 mile road course, Sunday afternoon's event proved to have more characteristics of a typical Saturday Night short track race with lots of bumping and banging. The circle track racing mentality exhibited by most in the field created an exciting race for onlookers but created major grief for some of the pre-race road course favorites.

Mikey Kile driving the no 25 Venturini Motorsports Toyota turned in a 6th place finish despite sustaining right front damage early in the race and unrelated suspention issues which caused major havoc with the car's handling. Kile and the entire no 25 pit crew turned in a stellar performance to keep the Venturini Motorsports car on the lead lap and in the top-10 most of the day.

Despite turning in the 3rd quickest practice time, no 55 Mike's Hard Lemonade driver, Steve Arpin qualified 15th before taking the checkered flag in the 9th position. Similar to teammate Mikey Kile's day, Arpin and the Mike's Hard Lemonade team were also tested throughout the day as they were forced to diagnose and fix mechanical issues under both yellow and green flag racing conditions. Determination, talent and teamwork proved to be key components in achieving the end result.

Overcoming a variety of challenges the Top-10 performances turned in by Steve Arpin and Mikey Kile proved once again why these two drivers and the VMS team are among the best in the NASCAR developmental racing business.

Next up, VMS will visit the Springfield Illinois Fairgrounds on August 22nd for the running of the Allen Crowe 100. Dirt racing at its best!
